Yes, I had my fair share of trouble with the Id mapping editor (already filed a bug). Unfortunately I couldn't upgrade an old system (or transfer) it's configuration and had to start over. This way the new ranges, which totally makes sense, differed from the source system.
Unfortunately the old system didn't have a defined range for it's trusted domains, which means it used the tdb backend, which doesn't seem to be deterministic. If I'm going to define a range for the trusted domains now, all existing mappings will loose it's references. I see that there is no real solution for this problem.
I think I will "backup" all permissions, after I finished the whole migration. Then I can create new Id ranges for the trusted domains and reapply all permissions.
