I have created a zfs volume and now I am trying to mount it to move my data files into it. I have an Ubuntu linux desktop with NFS shares. I cannot figure out what IP address or command to put in to mount the volume.

Do you have Samba (CIFS) enabled both on your FreeNAS and Ubuntu? If you have Samba enabled then you should be able to go to the menu in nautilus in Ubuntu and choose connect to server (I think -- it's been a while since I've used Ubuntu) and choose FreeNAS as the share and enter your user name and password from freenas to mount the share.

Thank you, I'm slowly getting there.

Thank you for the info - I now understand how to connect to the freeNAS server using SSH and CIFS. I can copy files using rsync. Now trying to figure out how to connect Ubuntu client using NFS with the freeNAS server - I understand that is a better way to do it with Linux.
