BUILD Time to build on Fujitsu Server

Hi all,

after a long time reading, time to build has come!
Build was thought for 4k storage, Plex and some VM test (win10 incoming...) but budget has become more and more tight so a step back was required. :)

I bought for a very little price a Fujitsu tx100 s3p with:

• intel i3 3220 - planning to update it to 4core Xeon sonner or later
• 24 gb ddr3 ecc ram from hynix (3x8gb) - 1x8gb will be added with the Xeon
• double Intel gigabit ethernet
• 6 WD Red 3tb (planning to use 1 as backup/cold spare)
• APC Smart UPS 750

Case is pretty small and it will require a little mod/fix to store the disks and keep the airflow at a right level.

I need some advice on:

• SSD. Will it worth to use a single SSD (no SATA port for more disks... and no worries for SSD failure) just for the VMs? It will be used for simple tests.
• USB Key. I was looking at a couple of SanDisk Cruzer Fit USB 2.0 16gb. Is there any preferred brand/model?
• 5,25" to 3,5", possible with fan. I saw Akasa one and similar. Does anyone has experience with that?
