Hey everybody,

i got a strange log messages in my daily security run:

+GEOM: zvol/tank1/appsrv_lun0: the primary GPT table is corrupt or invalid.

+GEOM: zvol/tank1/appsrv_lun0: using the secondary instead -- recovery strongly advised.

I read a lot about this error, but all found where physical disks. But mine is a zvol which is in use as a iscsi-lun connected to a windows 2008r2 server. this server crashed yesterday, does this has something to do with the message?

here's my config:

FreeNAS-9.1.0-RELEASE-x64 (dff7d13), 32GB RAM, Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU E3-1240 V2 @ 3.40GHz.
This are my pools:

You're using iSCSI, which is just passing through the zvol to windows. Windows is putting a GPT label on the iSCSI drive, which because it's a passthrough the FreeNAS box understands. You could do mount -t ntfs /dev/zvol/tank1/appsrv_lun0 as well, although I wouldn't recommend that!

But regardless, the GPT label that windows is using on it's disk has gotten damaged. The host OS can see that, but I wouldn't recommend trying to do anything to it outside of the VM that is using that disk. In other words, you the windows disk management tools to fix this.
