Because I just can't help myself sometimes, I have upgraded the dual CPU's in my primary FreeNAS. I went from from this:
Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU E5-2660 v2 @ 2.20GHz (2200.05-MHz K8-class CPU)
to this:
Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU E5-2637 v2 @ 3.50GHz (3500.08-MHz K8-class CPU)

I am running a scrub and giving it a little while before I move live VM's back to it. Does anyone have any suggestions for what else I might do to kick the tires and see if it seems any faster?

If you can take the chassis down, you could run a couple hours of GIMPS, or a Bitcoin full node, or some other CPU intensive task. Harder to do with FreeNAS running. Maybe a VM?

Well, you went from 40 threads to 16... so actually for highly threaded loads it should be slower. You want to be testing lightly threaded loads.

I know, but I didn't have a lot of threads going. No VM's running. I was mostly trying to have more CPU available in a single thread for Samba.
