hello,

i'm new to freenas and i'm a little bit confused about the red hdd failure LED in my supermicro server.
please have a look ; https://youtu.be/yW1CQnKZjZc

after every access (green LED) to the harddisks, the red LED is blinking. normally the red LED means a harddisk failure.
i've found several issues with harddisk leds in supermicro servers, but nothing like the behavior of my machine.

imho the sytem (v9.10) works fine without errors. can anyone confirm this behavior?

Hardware:
SuperMicro AS-1012G-MTF (Motherboard H8SGL-F)
6x SATA2 3.0 Gbps Ports via AMD SP5100 controller
4x WD Gold 4TB

regards

While I cannot answer your question, I do have a question for you... Does it appear that FreeNAS is running fine? Also, if you perform a data write operation what does the LEDs do? Right now I suspect the drives are writing the system dataset to the drives assuming the system is runing fine.
