I have been reading through the forums for weeks now and I am almost at the point of spending "all" my money.

I will be getting 6x 3TB WD Red HDD's and using RaidZ2 so I should be left with around 8.7TB of usable space if you apply the 80% rule for keeping performance optimal.
I have thought about using 4TB disks (as recommended) but I cannot see myself using more than 8.7TB in the next 3 or 4 years and the price for 4TB drives is £40 more than the 3TB drives so x6 that is a £240 price premium and I am already overspending lol.

I already have lying around;
I have decided to go with a Super Micro uATX board but I am stuck between either a X9 or X10

Option 1

Mobo: Super Micro X10SLH-F
CPU: Intel Xeon e3 1230 v3
RAM: Crucial 16GB (2x8GB) CT2KIT102472BA160B

Option 2

Mobo: Super Micro X9SCL-F
CPU: Intel Xeon e3 1230 v2
RAM: Crucial 16GB (2x8GB) CT2KIT102472BA160B

Option 2 is around £75 cheaper but the main reason I am considering it, is for compatability.

I have read in a few places on the forum that FreeNAS has a few issues with the new X10 boards and the only real benefit I see from having a X10 is a slight performance increase from the new v3 Xeon, USB 3.0, Sata 6GB/s and the newer chipset C226 vs C202 in the X9.

Is USB 3.0 enabled yet in the latest version of FreeNAS, if not will it be in future ?

Will I see any difference at all with Sata 6GB/s ports using WD Reds ?

Am i missing anything else why the C226 chipset is better ?

Also will my Seasonic M12II bronze 520w be ok ? I know 520w is a little high but as I already have it ?

One other thing I am unsure about is at the bottom of the X9SCL-F page it says;

"*** BIOS rev. 2.0 or above is needed to support new E3-1200 v2 CPUs, which supports PCI-E 3.0 & DDR3 1600"

So if my board was delivered with an older bios than this would I not be able to boot it up ?

Thanks in advance for your help :)
