Soundcard Installation

Hey,

I have found the following steps to install my soundcard within Ubuntu - http://esomesh.wordpress.com/2011/03/11/getting-to-work-fortemedia-fm-801-sound-card-with-ubuntu/. What what would be the process to get this running with FreeNAS?

Hi Jess,

Not to be to blunt, but why would you want to? FreeNAS isn't a tiny install-to-a-USB-key general purpose OS, it's made for storage & serving files.

If you are looking for an OS to run from a flash drive take a look at something like Puppy Linux.

I am unsure were you got the flash drive idea from, I am looking at using this system to back-up and serve audio files but also develop a central audio/backup GUI playing system.
