software raid 5 (ufs) does not work with 4 6 or 7 disk ?

i got a problem creating a 7 disk software raid 5 with ufs

i'm running 7 3 tb seagate disk and i can easily create a raid z1 with these but the performance is more than poor and i only tryed a raid z1 for a test the sstem is simply to slow.

but i can only choice a raid >3< with 3 or 5 disk when the fs is ufs and it works fine is fast but yeah that not the my aim so...


my system is a phenom 2 x4 965 with 8 gb ram (max 16) with 7 seagate 3 tb disks.

i tryed it with nas4free and a ufs raid 5 is possible but i got another problem with nas4free but this is the wrong forum for it.

is the software raid 5 maybe removed from freenas?

Yes, graid5 is deprecated and should not be used. It has been removed from FreeNAS.
