smb share slow transfer speeds

i just installed a new hard drive and tried to copy about 60gb of files to the drive at the start the speed was 100mb/s (i have 1gig network)
but after 10 seconds it dropped to 10-5mb/s and i was wondering why and i changed the drive because i had the same issue for the the old drive
so what could be wrong with my setup? all cables are cat 6
my setup goes like this:
ibm x3550 m2 has esxi 6.5 installed and esxi 6.5 has PfSense, FreeNAS and 2 linux vms installed and them theres cable going to 1gig switch and from there cables goto my computer

If you have lots of small files - transfer rates will be slow. Test with a large file and see if throughput is better.
