I placed a fresh image of the freenas 9.10.1 u2 image on a new usb drive and booted it up because the old boot usb was throwing an error. After boot I note in alerts it tells me smartd is not running. Attempting to start it manually results in:\

famewolf@freenas:/mnt/volume1/media/downloads % sudo /etc/ix.rc.d/ix-smartd start

We trust you have received the usual lecture from the local System
Administrator. It usually boils down to these three things:

#1) Respect the privacy of others.
#2) Think before you type.
#3) With great power comes great responsibility.

Password:
Error: no such column: d.id

How can I resolve this?

First thing, did you turn on SMART under Services? If not, turn it on and see if that fixes your issue.

How about listing your hardware and configuration first as this will help us determine the best course of action, then while waiting you could try to reinstall FreeNAS. If you can, run dmesg and post it in paste.bin and then toss a link here so we can see if error messages stand out.

I hope reinstalling solves the problem but you probably already tried that.
