Gday folks,

Had quite a lingering problem here.

Long story short:

-Transferring from a mounted folder to a folder which isn't mounted is ridiculously slow and tedious.
-Transmission jail folder
-Maxxes out at around 12MB/s for 1 file.
-If I try to transfer more files it makes the fileserver come to a crawl. It totals around 10-12MB/s. If I try to stream at the same time (BR over GbE) there is intermittent freezing.
-Without the jail folder mounted, transfers average 70-80MB/s.
-CPU usage isn't ridiculously high when this occurs (Reporting says 50% load tops)

Long story long:
FreeNAS-8.3.0-RELEASE-p1-x64 (r12825
AMD E350
16GB Memory
5x2TB RaidZ - 8TB Usable)

Hi Chris,

How are you transferring? Can you give more details, commands, are you copying from a client, OS info if you're doing from a client etc.

Hey Proto,

Thanks for the quick reply.

I am transferring from within Windows - So basically navigate to the downloads folder, copy and paste it into another folder.

I am wondering if I would get a different result from say within the FreeNAS shell?
If so I'm a bit of a novice on standard commands in the shell. Don't do much else other than chmod.

Cheers,
Chris

Have the same problem it seems.

Running Freenas 9.2.1.2 with Transmission 2.82.

When i download a file in transmission and its complete and i copying it over to another drive i get 40MB/s copy speed.
If i delete the file from the transmission list the copy speed is 90MB/s

So it seems as long as the file is still in the Transmission list the copy speed is only half.
It doesnt matter if the file is done/paused/uploading etc. only when i choose delete (not delete files) the speed increases.

Has it something to do with jail folder?

My Jail is on a diffrent volume then my downloaded files folder.

Edit: Reinstalled freenas and plugin, only used the jail folder for download and still got the same speed when copying.
