Hello,

My local workgroup is the default WORKGROUP. I'm able to share all files as expected with all computer in this domain.

The issue is only with my professionnal laptop where the domain is different: COMP. I can't manage to connect to the share folders.
When asking for user/password, I tried "WORKGROUP\<username>" but system is still telling me incorrect user credentials.

Does anyone know how to fix this please?

thank you for your answer.
Not sure what you meant. I tried t connect to the folder with my laptop using :
root
WORKGROUP/root
yozart
WORKGROUP/yozart

none is working

In freenas, the dataset is set with following :

owner(user): root
Owner Group : wheel
permission type: Windows

User Yozart has:
primary group: wheel
auxiliary group: wheel, ...
Mode: 775

I meant using:
  • .\yozart

Also, how are you trying to connect to the share? Is it via IP Address, FreeNAS Server Name or Share Name?

P.S. I just noticed in your examples you were using a forward slash "/" is that a typo?

in File explorer:
I put in the address bar: \\192.168.0.10
then system displays my shared folders. When I try to enter in one, it asks for the password

.\yozart isn't working neither.
Windows is replacing ".\yozart" by "<Laptop's name>\yozart"

i was encountering a similar problem with 11.1-u4. to help debug, i went to services -> smb and set the log level to debug. i checked /var/log/samba4/log.smbd and saw messages about a wrong password. i also saw messages about NTLMv1 authentication, so i went back to services -> smb, checked the NTLMv1 auth box, and i was able to connect.

the user guide has some more information about NTLMv1 here.
