Hey guys, total NOOB so I will try and explain as best as I can.
I'm not sure any of you can help. I'll be honest up front I'm using OpenMediaVault, I tried getting FreeNAS to work, but it just couldn't idk why but I'm hoping this question applies to all NAS systems. If not hopefully someone can point me in the right direction or a tutorial.
My server is loaded into an HP DV9000 series laptop and I'm accessing the webGUI and files from my MacBook Pro. The server shows up in my finder window as a shared device and I access my folders from there.
What I would like to accomplish is access/backup the files on my server anywhere I might be that has an internet connection, just like how they show up in my Finder window. Is this possible?
