Scrub and SMART schedule

Hi everybody,
I spent last day to find a way to schedule:
- Scrub every Sunday at 2pm
- SMART long test every Wednesday at 2pm

Unfortunately no one of these works

Could you please explain to a stupid guy how can i set all the triggers to make it happen?

What version of FreeNAS are you using?

In the left hand pane open up Storage - > ZFS Scrub and if you don't have any scrub schedule then add one, if you do have a scrub schedule then edit it. You will find many settings that you can change but keep it setup as default except the hour you should change and scroll down to the bottom and select only Sunday.

You do similar setup for SMART which is under System -> SMART Tests. You will have to create long tests if you haven't already.

How can i see if the scrub and SMART start properly? because from the console i don't have any message

From the shell type

smartctl -a /dev/ada0

assuming your first drive is ada0. This will list quite a bit of data and in there you will see test results. Correlate the hour it was run to the current hours of power on time and you will know when it was completed. Repeat this for all your drives, ada1, ada2, etc...

For scrub results, run "zpool status -v" from the shell. Here's an example of the output.

This is how i set scrub...but unfortunately doesn't start!

For SMART I have drives da0, da1, etc... instead of ada0, ada1, etc... i think is the same process...is now set to start at 19pm (so in 15min for my local time)...i will let you know

Those settings are set so that a scrub will occur every sunday at 1400, but only if there has been at least 35 days since the last completed scrub.
