I am unable to locate where to save my current configuration in FreeNAS 8.0 BETA RC2. I would really like to upgrade to the newest version, but I want to back up. There isn't a "save config" in Settings>General.

Thanks!

EDIT: So, it appears there isn't an option in unless I would have had the final release. What are my options?

In 8.0.4-RELEASE, the configuration file is located here: /data/freenas-v1.db

Assuming the location is the same in the beta, you could copy that file to another location.

I haven't accessed files previously. Where and how do I go about locating and then saving a copy in another location.

From the server, select the "shell" (or if SSH is enabled, you can access it from another machine).

The example below, copies the file to my CIFS share, where I can grab it from my Windows pc.

cp /data/freenas-v1.db /mnt/vol1/home/bill

Thanks man! That's what I needed.
