Restoring from non-exiting IP

I changed the IP address of the NAS a few months. Now attempting to restore files from the backup, Windows restore utility can't find the IP address of the machine, for the right reason. Clearly, I didn't think this through at the time before changing the IP.
I can still access the files using Windows Explorer by specifying the new IP address but the files have the timestamp and versioanlity as part of the name.
Is there a way to change the IP address of the existing backup? Thanks much.

Can't you get to the files using open instead of restore and changing the IP in the address bar of Windows Explorer?

Do you really need to restore if you can open the older file(s)?

Yes I can access the files using the current IP address in the addressbar, and as I mentioned, backup adds timestamp and versioning to the filename. Accessing the file though the restore utility, pulls the right version and it doesn't include all the additional info (timestamp & version) as part of the filename.
