hi,

the adding of a mirrored boot-device (8GB) takes nearly 40 hour now.
Code:
action: Wait for the resilver to complete.
scan: resilver in progress since Sat Dec 2 00:44:08 2017
3.18G scanned out of 3.01G at 24.3K/s, (scan is slow, no estimated time)
		3.18G resilvered, 105.68% done

any idea how long it will take? 105% should be more than enough, shouldn't it?

Maybe you have a really slow USB flash drive?

No, seriously, when you add a mirror to a boot device it is best to backup your configuration file, then reinstall FreeNAS to both drives at the same time and follow that up with restoring the boot device. I've seen issues adding a boot mirror here several times. Just my two cents.

40 hours is of course way too long, and 105% slightly exceed 100% so that is a problem.

My suggestion would be to move to something other than a USB drive.
If you are still able to access the GUI, you should make a backup of the config file now. As a precaution, if nothing else.

Fyi: it's done now. Resilvering is done (38hours exactly). Backup is done, too. Next weeks I have to replace 6 x 3TB WD red drives...

Lose the USB sticks. A single SSD from any reputable manufacturers is orders of magnitude more reliable AND faster than any USB stick.

Code:
  pool: freenas-boot
 state: ONLINE
  scan: resilvered 3.22G in 38h31m with 0 errors on Sun Dec 3 15:15:23 2017
config:

	   NAME STATE READ WRITE CKSUM
	   freenas-boot ONLINE 0 0 0
		 mirror-0 ONLINE 0 0 0
		   da6p2 ONLINE 0 0 0
		   da7p2 ONLINE 0 0 0

errors: No known data errors

I think only the time is not so good. But perhaps i will upgrade to some small ssd in the next weeks.

In the meantime, remove old boot environments to speed it up.
