Replication Task

You don't want a new directory except for the first one, which makes the 'jails' dataset. After that they should just accumulate as part of the same dataset. I am not sure whether you then have to add "jails" to the destination path, or not.

Edit: as to why the automatic task doesn't work, I have no idea. All I know is it used to work in 9.3 before the latest update.

FWIW, I have set up a new snapshot task, apparently successfylly. I have also set up a new replication task using it. The replication task fails. So perhaps it doesn't work in 9.3.1. I used exactly the same setup as has worked perfectly in previous versions of FreeNAS, AFAICT.

Ah ok. Do you mean it makes sense to go back to am early release. Before 9.3.1.....

I suspect it is either that or wait til they fix it!
