Switched out the Verizon Fios Gateway for an appliance firewall. I set the LAN port on the firewall to 192.168.1.1 which is what the FIOS gateway had for LAN.

Now I'm getting repeated errors in my log:

Apr 27 10:52:40 Basement kernel: arp: [MAC address] attempts to modify permanent entry for 192.168.1.1 on epair4b

These go on every 4 seconds creating 2 log entries.

Now in Arp table, there is no epair4b so I suspect there's an interface trying to write itself into the ARP table, and the MAC address belongs to my firewall.

Should I manually add the arp table entry?

That message is being generated by one of your jails. Restart them to stop the event in your logs.

Definitely stop all jails, and restart them.
