Hello all,
First of all sorry if this is in the wrong section of the forum.
I'm in a bit of a pickle! I have had a freenas 8.0.4 running fine until today. I went to remove one hard drive from the NAS that I wasn't using ( I had 2 installed) and while doing this I un-pluged the sata cables that I didn't need. I re connected the one and only used drive back up and fired up the NAS.
When I logged back into the web interface it came up with an Alert - CRITICAL: The volume Data (UFS) status is DEGRADED. This is where I'm at now, I really need this disk back up and running as I have my music and pictures etc. on it. I know some of you will say I should have it backed up etc and I'm currently hitting myself for this!!
Is there a way to install the HDD in to a windows 7 pc and recover the files from the drive as I know its UFS and not NTFS.
As I said before I'm not up with all the tech speak for FreeNAS, I have looked and searched the net and freenas forum but I don't really know what I'm looking for.
Any more info needed please just let me know.
Many thanks.
Lloydie
