Hello everyone,
ZFS recommendation for RAM is 1GB per Terabytes , I don;t see any discussion or threads that is related to RAM requirement on SSD systems? does the rule still applies? if so, my current setup has around 12TB of raw space , total of 12 disk with 2 vdevs in raidz2, 6disk per vdev. Will my system gain noticeable benefits with more rams in the system.
My use case is to provide NFS storage for Vmware. the performance so far is adequate but less than satisfactory .

supermicro X10DRi-T
Dual Xeon(R) CPU E5-2630 v3
32Gb *2 64GB
Micron SSD RaidZ2 12 disk with 2 vdevs 1tb per disk
SLOG: Intel Optane 900P

RAM requirement on SSD systems?
No requirement other than 8GB minimum... it's a guide.
More RAM almost always=better in FreeNAS.

total of 12 disk with 2 vdevs in raidz2, 6disk per vdev.
Depending on your NIC, you may see better performance (if that's your primary goal) by using 6 mirrored VDEVs (more VDEVs=more performance/IOs)

If you want specific help from the forum, you'll have to do a better job of quantifying what you have (hardware and current performance) and what you want/expect.
