I received an email from my Freenas server. In the email are these lines:

> GEOM: ada8: the primary GPT table is corrupt or invalid.
> GEOM: ada8: using the secondary instead -- recovery strongly advised

Can someone please tell me what is the best way to recover this?

Given that you appear to have two simultaneous storage failures, it might be a good idea to troubleshoot your full hardware stack (power, cables, RAM etc).

I recently received a similar message about my disks when I attempted to move them to a different box. In that case, it was a hardware config I needed to change.

With that in mind, did anything change recently? Any circumstances that might be relevant?

Also, you might need to post your system specs in the message body as a courtesy to mobile users.

no nothing has changed in the box physically. I did have to recreate my boot disk, and then import the volume because I kept getting getty messegaes with no way to clear them.

My box is an HP Z800 Dual Xeon processors, 96gb's of memory, 4x 8TB drives internally. these drives are the ones I had to reimport.
