Hello...a hypothetical question here.

What would be the best way to protect files in a CIFS share from Virus attack after mapping the share in Windows?

I guess rolling back the snap shots would recover the files therein?

Please comment.

Thanks & Regards

What type of "virus attack"? Ransomware? The best way to protect from that is properly hardening your clients.

Snapshots on your FreeNAS system allow you to recover more quickly & easily than with traditional filesystems, but one ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. ;-)
