I am still using freenas 9.3.

I have a board with 2 interfaces + 1 IPMI NIC.
In the "network" GUI i only entered:
* hostname: freenas
* domain: local
* gateway: 192.168.1.1
* nameserver: 192.168.1.1

192.168.1.1/24 is my pfsense box.
This works fine, all interfaces can connect.

Now i added a 10gb Chelsio NIC (i want a direct connection between the nas and a server only and thus a static ip is espected)
In the "interface" tab i added a item for "cxgb0":
* name: cxgb0
* ipv4: 192.168.254.1
* mask: /24

After a reboot freenas decides only to advertise the GUI only on cxgb. Which will not work.
I fixed this -for now- by adding a static "igb0" interface with settings:
* ipv4: 192.168.1.60
* mask: /24

But now i *have* to enter a static IP but i rather let pfsense assign a IP to it (using the MAC address). Is this something i configured wrong?

In System|General you set which IP the GUI binds to.
