Portability of FreeNAS jails

I'm planning on doing some experimenting with running a Samba4 AD DC inside a jail. I know that FreeNAS has the CLI version of the warden. If I use "warden export" to export the jail to a .wdn file, will I be able to import it into TrueOS or PCBSD and be able to run it and vice-versa?

I believe that is the design goal.

Theoretically it should work. In practice it's one of those things that you'll have to try and find out. ;)
