This is only my second FreeNAS build, the first was just a couple of weeks ago and I'm still learning the ropes here. I've been doing a bit of searching and I think this is fine but just want to confirm.
I've built a 6 disk raidz2 on an lsi2308 controller. Without thinking I've been copying data to it on and off for two days now and have about 6TB of stuff on there.
However, what I meant to do is set this array up on the motherboard's pch and/or scu controllers (SM X9DR7-LN4F). I was just testing performance on the LSI and late nights led to forgetting to reconfigure before moving data over. Can I safely move the disks over to the other controllers? Do I need to do anything other than shutdown, move the disks and reboot? Can I span multiple different types of controllers with the array, ie 4 drives on scu and 2 on pch?
Thanks!
Chris.
FreeNAS Box: FreeNAS 9.1.1
Supermicro 933T Case w/ triple power
Supermicro X9DR7-LN4F w/ single E5-2620
32GB ECC DDR3
