Hi,

Totally new here and just setup my HP Gen8MS yesterday with FreeNAS 11. I've started basic and everything was going fine.
I managed to get setup with with a share for Windows and also running plugins and jails for Plex and Transmission using some of the guides on here. Now I was setting up the unit in my office so once I was happy with everything I powered off and moved to my garage where it will permanently live. Upon powering up everything seemed to be ok with the exception of Plex.
From the installed plugins tab it shows plex as off and I can't toggle it on. I stopped and restarted the jail but this didn't help.
I then done some google work and found a couple of possible things to try

From shell I tried the following service commands with the results shown below:
Code:
root@plexmediaserver_1:/ # service plexmediaserver stop
plexmediaserver not running? (check /var/run/plex/plex.pid).
root@plexmediaserver_1:/ # service plexmediaserver start
Starting plexmediaserver.
login class 'daemon' non-existent, using default
su: pam_start: system error
/usr/local/etc/rc.d/plexmediaserver: WARNING: failed to start plexmediaserver
root@plexmediaserver_1:/ #

Anyone have any ideas what could be wrong?

In my opinion the best way to install Plex is right here in this thread. It just works. Also to upgrade is only three simple steps. So my advice is to delete the Plex Plugin you have and then follow the link I provided.
