When I try to add a disk device to a vm I can't add a zvol. There are no suggestion in the dropdown menu. Manually adding the path also does not work. The Save button stays grey and I can't click it. What else can I try? Are there any logs I can provide so you could better understand my problem?

Did you create the Zvol beforehand? How?

Yes I have several zvols in my dataset. Those were copied over from another truenas using replication tasks

Code:
AME PROPERTY VALUE SOURCE
pool/dataset/ap1-rvx38r readonly off local

I already turned that off

This is a relatively fresh install, right? What version are you on?

I can't remember for sure, either try creating a VM and chose to create a new zvol upon creation in the same directory instead of trying to locate an existing one. Or if the zvols are stored in a dataset, add the user libvirt-qemu in the ACL for the dataset.

I didn't realize this may not only concern me, I thought it was just a quirk with my install. Although it happening two times could have been a pointer in the right direction.
