Hello

I would like to add an access point to Freenas mas I can not do it.
In fact FreeNAS has no Wifi driver. Why? While it is based on FreeBSD 8.3.
Someone there a solution so that I can add WiFi.

Thank you very much.

FreeNAS doesn't have wifi drivers(at least that I know of) because it is meant to be used as a file server and not a wifi hotspot. Many wifi cards do not support hotspot mode anyway, so even if the drivers were available only a small number of them would do what you want.

There's a How-To guide in the "How To" section of the forum that goes step by step through how to compile FreeNAS for yourself. Honestly, though, if you don't know how to do it you have a low chance of success. You're better off just using a wireless router or hotspot than to try to do what you are trying. It may cost some money, but it will almost certainly save you hours and hours of trying before you fail/succeed.

Plug NAS into router, turn on WiFi in router. Access wirelessly. DONE.
