Hello everyone
I am pretty new on NAS servers, I have just setup mine I couple days ago, but I am having issues with the internet connection on my system.
All my hardware specifications are at the end of my post.
ISSUE
I have installed the Plex plugin manually (the automatic system from the plugin store did not work, more about if later) wit the script here https://github.com/danb35/freenas-iocage-plex. I installed it on a jail with VNET configuration and static IP..
However, when I try to access the plex GUI using the IP it tells me that the connection is refused. At this point I can still ping from my free nas shell to google, i.e there is an Internet connection active.
To resolve this issue I have to do the next things:
- Stop the Jail -> Edit -> Select the interface from default to my interface -> accept changes -> and run the Jail again.
Now I have access to Plex, however... I do not have access to internet from the FreeNas GUI! Any ping will tell me No route to host.
Now to resolve it I can do the next:
- Go to the Network section on the FreeNas GUI -> Interfaces -> Edit -> Apply(No need to edit anything) -> Test changes -> accept changes.
Now I have internet on my freenas again but I lost access to the plex gui again!
Some information of what seems to be useful commands (based on other post here),
Note*: The jail is called pms
Note*: Freenas keeps the local connection, I can transfer and read files without any issues when plex is running
HARDWARE
AMD Athlon 3000g
Mainboard Asus Prime A320 M-K
Realtek® RTL8111H, 1 x Gigabit LAN Controller (Integrated)
Ram Corsair ddr4 3200 - 16gb
6 x 4tb ironwolf nas disks ST4000VN008
Router:
Deco S4
Access point (the server is connected to it) :
Archer a x20 tp link
Something about why I installed Plex using script!
The installation failed at 75%, after the steps "Starting Jail", after this point the nas losts connection to the internet and so the installation fails
