Hi all,

I am new to this and I am still doing a lot of reading. I want to use FreeNAS and Clonezilla. I have found some articles on the subject but not much. It sound like FreeNAS and Clonezilla have to be on two separate computers. Is that correct?

I am looking to see if it is possible to put both on the same computer. I would like to have the cloning server software on the same computer as FreeNAS. I am thinking of setting up FreeNAS with three 3TB WD Red hard drive in a RAID configuration of some sort.

Any help or how-to articles would be very helpful.

Thanks in advance!

For this app, you have 3 choices:
1. Use 2 separate systems.
2. Install clonezilla into a virtualbox jail, after installing an OS that supports it (as FreeBSD does not).
3. Install the http://cruciblewds.org/ Plugin on FreeNAS.

Thanks for the quick response. I guess I will go with option 1 as it will probably be the easiest of the three options to set up.

Thanks again!

So the step would probably be to setup FreeNAS first, then configure it for RAIDZ, then setup Clonezilla on another sercer and point it to FreeNAS server as the location to store the image files.
