Hi!
I'm a total beginner with all these external DIY storage solutions.
I was wondering if it is possible to make a NAS/DAS device?
I need an external storage solution for my video editing needs. I'm valuing both redundancy and read/write speed. The ideal solution would be a device that I could connect directly to my laptop, using USB 3.0 (maybe USB 3.1 soon?) or Thunderbolt, as well as having it connected to my home router, allowing me to access data over the internet from other locations.
For redundancy I'm thinking 4-5 3TB WD Red HDDs, set up in RAID 5 or 6.
