Hey,
Very new to this.
I have a small computer running Freenas 9.10.
I aim to use it as my software hub for sab/hydra/plex etc.
Just to keep my gaming desktop clean.
However, my gaming desktop has a large case and fits 9+ HDD's.
So most of my storage is inside this other computer.
What I aim to do is get Freenas to read/write over the network to those other drives. I believe for it to do that, we need to mount the drives within Freenas (as NTFS if possible, can reformat if necessary).
Have enabled SMB, FTP.
So I have shared all the drives; eg. my Z drive is at:
\\Pc\z
Freenas IP is 192.168.91.148
Gaming PC is 192.168.91.9
Done a lot of research, but have been unable to get the examples to work. Always "operation not permitted".
Any advice is very welcome.
Thanks
