i have server and i connected 500x2GB using mirror ZFS as ISCSI
everything works fine but my question is what if one of hard disk fails..
i know the data will remain but in my case i need to replace a new hard disk instead off the corrupted one to continue mirroring without losing data was saved on the first Hdd.
ok i will try to simplify..... how to rejoin new hard disk in mirror with the existing hard disk to continue mirror without losing my data.
waiting for help ....thanks

I don't understand your configuration 500x2GB, is that 2 x 500Gb or ...

But, in any event, to replace you drive, you'd follow the instructions in section 6.3.11 of the manual.

After you replace the failed drive, resilvering will take place, so the data from the remaining good drive, will be replicated to the new one (in the mirror).

For mirrors this is better:

Actually, for this case the following is superior:
  1. Shutdown
    • If enough available bays add all drives to the case.
    • If not then swap 1[sup]st[/sup] drive with replacement.
  2. Attach 1[sup]st[/sup] new drive creating a 3-way mirror. (With one device unavailable if b.)
  3. Repeat for 2[sup]nd[/sup] drive creating a 4-way mirror. (Shutdown & replace if b.)
  4. Scrub pool.
  5. Detach old drives.
If something goes wrong simply swap the original drives back in, assuming they aren't the source of the problem, to restore the pool.

Furthermore, for any shutdown/replace I actually wouldn't offline the old device first. Removing it and having it be UNAVAIL simplifies things if you need to put the original back in for any reason. Now if I was hot-swapping, I would always offline the drive first.
The above procedure, non-hotswap, was for replacing 2 existing drives with 2 larger drives. Adapt as appropriate.

i have done the following steps to replace the corrupted H.D

Issue is:-
one of exsting H.Ds currapted and u have to replaiced it with new one without lossing data on the good H.D((Mirror benefit))

After removing the old curappted H.D

Attach the new H.D into ((ISCSI Storage server))And power it on

login to FreeNas

Volumes>>>>>>>>>> Volumes Manager>>>>>
u spouse to see the new H.D that u had attached ((Dont Do anything in shis tap))
Go to >>>>view Volumes>> Volumes Status
u will see the Serial of currapted H.D
on the Currapted H.D Prees Replace>>>> Replace Disk>>>>restart

i will be glad 2 know ur opinion.:)
