I'm building a photo file server as a project and started it up with FreeNAS 8.04 with no issues except this one. I installed minidlna per the various install guides here but when I reboot, I have to start up minidlna manually with

minidlna -f /conf/base/etc/minidlna.conf

That works great and the servers pop up on my windows machines and my PS3 but when I type

service minidlna status

I get:

minidlna does not exist in /etc/rc.d or the local startup directories (/usr/local/etc/rc.d).

I've copied the config file to those directories but when I reboot, they are gone. I'm clearly missing something that everyone else takes for granted. Can anyone tell me where I am going wrong?

Having same issue with 8.2-beta 4. Both that and Firefly are not auto starting.

Same issue here

Exactly same issue here, on 8.2-beta 4. I wonder if the plugins service is meant to start it, rather than the OS starting it independently?

I am very new to this and this forum, so can someone tell me if the developers read stuff in here, or do I need to log this as a support issue?
