Migrating to new hardware: procedure?

I've made a backup of the current config file but is this necessary? If I'm not mistaken, all it takes to migrate to new hardware is to move the OS USB and HDDs to the new hardware? If this is correct, is there any configuration I would need to do after migrating to new hardware in this way?

A backup never hurts ;)

You should be fine after exchanging the hardware, though.
