Hi there,

I will be migrating to my new hardware soon and in the same time upgrading from
FreeNAS-9.2.1.7-RELEASE-x64 (fdbe9a0) to 9.3

Is there anything I need to keep in mind other than importing the volumes after the switch and uploading my old config.

I would do the migration to the new hardware, using the same version as the old one. Once you confirm everythings working as it should, then consider the upgrade to 9.3.

You should be able to move the old boot device from the old machine to the new one. Generally, the one thing you may need to reconfigure is the NIC, if you switched from say a Realtek to an Intel. Do keep a copy of the old config on hand.

Good luck!

2x 16GB Sandisk USB sticks are the new hotness for 9.3 bootmedia.

Do not upgrade your zpool instantly, but verify that your system works to your expectations for weeks/months on end.

Thanks, I will test the hardware with the 9.2 for some time before upgrading.

Then I will swap the usb for a the new install and upload the config.

And yes I am moving from a Realtek to Intel nic

The move to the new hardware went well, the intel nic's are working after some tweaking

currently running the 9.2 no issues.
