M/Monit & Monit on FreeNAS

In our small Lab we use combination of Monit, Munin, and centralized
login server to monitor things. I have seen that issue of Monit pluggin
has been raised in the past

What is "the correct way" to run Monit (Munin) or for that matter any
monitoring tool on FreeNAS. I know that FreeNAS comes with fantastic
built in monitoring tools but some time I just want up and down view of
all my servers.

In the nutshell I used portjail and pkgin to install monit and munin inside the jail. CPU, RAM are correctly reported from within a Jail. I can push info about file system. I still have no idea how to monitor network or do some more interesting things as SMART, IPMI and similar.
