Hello Ladies and Gentlemen.

I have a FreeNAS running on a USB Thumb-drive with the hard-drives set up in a RAID.

The USB drive was (unintentionally) removed and subsequently lost in transit.

Is the RAID configuration written on the USB drive or on the hard-drives themselves?

If YES, can simply I rebuild a FreeNAS configuration on a new USB Thumb-drive, and then let that read the RAID and access the data on the drives once again?

Many thanks in advance,

Hayden P.

Of course, the raid is stored in the disks, not in freenas configuration.

Simply install freenas in a new USB and auto import the volume.
