Hello,

yesterday i build up my FreeNAS System.
For that i bought a HP G1610t MicroServer with..
- 2x4GB ECC RAM
- 3x3TB HDD (RAID-Z)
- 1x 120GB Samsung SSD

I use as an Access Point AVM Fritzbox 7940. The Server and my PC are connected with 1Gbit Ethernet cable to the AP. On the website of the AP i can see that both are connected (1Gbit/s).
Under FreeNAS i created a CIFS Share medium without any encryption.
When i transfer some movies from my PC to the share folder i got an average speed of ~30 MBit/s.
The Firewall of the PC is deactived.

What can i do to increase my network performance or to find the error?

Kind regards,

Test your network speed using iperf. Then test your servers disk speed using dd. Also post the hardware of your client machine.

iperf: 94.4 MBytes 94.4 MBytes/sec

Hardware of my Client:
Asus H97-Pro Gamer Gaming MB Intel H97 So.1150 Dual Channel DDR3 ATX Retail
Intel Core i5 4690K 4x 3.50GHz So.1150 BOX
1x 250 SSD Samsung Evo 840
1x 4TB WD Red
Your network speed is slower than expected and its also strange to post it in bytes and not bits/sec. Are you sure you got the correct wording? Your switch/router isn't the best but it's working OK. Next let's check your pool disk speed. Turn off compression on a dataset then run this dd if=/dev/zero of=/mnt/pool/10G.dat bs=128k count=81920

thank you for your help, but i fixed the problem. I used an other user and the speed raised up to 90-94MB/s.
I don`t know why. But now it works fine. :)
