I have 3 regular/plugin jails...they are all in 192.,168.1.x/24

They are 192.168.1.80-84 and they can all ping each other.

The jail at 192.168.1.81, is virtual box, and it is running a centos6 vm
It is setup with an adapter, bridged, to ix1 on 192.168.1.88

Problem is that the standard jails cannot ping the centos6 vm, and visa versa. The centos6 vm can ping outside, name resolution is working, dns points to my cable router 192.168.1.1, it resolvs.

The jails just cannot get to the centos6 virtual box. Any ideas why? The centos6 runs the common services for the systems, like email, etc. But if a jail cannot see it, then email doesn't work :(

Is there a firewall enabled by default on Centos? Does Centos require a sysctl or some type of config value to allow pings?

IPTABLES is the firewall, I have it disabled. It wouldn't stop pings out from the centos box to the other jails, it would stop the pings back in.

I do not know where to look for a sysctl to make it work. Out of the box, on ESXi, pings/communications work, if IPTABLES is off.

It isn't just pings don't work. The 2 cannot talk at all.

Ok, details.....
It looks like it can ping outside the freeNAS box, to other machines in my network and to outside sites
It cannot ping to anything in the freenas box. Not its external address 192.168.1.49, or the jails 192.168.1.80-84. And no jails can ping the centos6.

Outside of the freenas box, my windows box, 192.168.1.180 CAN ping the centos vm box
All the regular jails can ping each other

So it seems to be some problem, with vm's in a virtual box, talking to anything else in the freenas box
