Hey guys, just a quick question here.

I have a jail HTPC ( see screen DeepinScreenshot_20180520081846.png) that takes up nearly 100GiB but when i check all the files of the jail, its only a few GiB ( see other screens ).
I have deleted all of the SSD volume snapshots so it cant be the space those take up.
Please advise.

DeepinScreenshot_20180520081846.png As you see here HTPC takes up quite a bit of space
DeepinScreenshot_20180520082523.png This one is take from withing the iocage jail console, /mnt containts mounted media from the host system.
DeepinScreenshot_20180520082959.png This screen is taken from within the /mnt/SSD/iocage/jails folder, the one that says its 96 GiB (note that i have an sshfs mounted the HDD + SSD on my workstation)

That’s 100 MiB, not GiB. Hard to do anything for less

Look down in the screen

Aa, there is more then one. Maybe you can show us the screen from the iocage jail instead of the warden jail?

These are all iocage jails, i've created all of them in the cli. Only have the XMR plugin in warden style.

I’m quite sure that /mnt/ssd/jails is warden. Iocage would have made its own dataset and mounted it in /mnt/iocage unless you did something creative. Also the .warden* folders kind of hints at that as well..

Sins you don’t show the actual paths but some kind of mounted paths in your shreenshots it’s hard to tell what we are looking at.

Yes, it is, but that isn't the problem--the problem is the HTPC iocage jail. As is pretty clear in the first screenshot he posted.

Ya I’m thinking snapshots too, but I would like to know if there is an actual difference first.

Exactly, so showing us how big a warden jail is when it’s an iocage jail that is being investigated is not ideal

So no, not the snapshots.

Its weird since there is "/mnt/SSD/Jails" and "/mnt/iocage/jails"

Dont know any other way then using ncdu as a size list tool for dir's and files? What should i hand in?

df -h shows some mount points

there you have it, the jail is just below 100 GB.

You mean that there isn’t 100 GB worth of content in that jail? What leads you to believe that?

Exactly, if you look at the following screen it shows that besides /mnt (which is mounted from my host with all the media) i only have around 6G worth of space occupied. This screen is using NCDU tool within "iocage console HTPC"

One cause that i would come up with for the content not making up for the supposed 100GB would be a snapshot but those are all gone...

And besides that, why are there 2 locations /mnt/iocage/jails and /mnt/SSD/Jails since they are actually just one origin, right?

One is you warden jails and the other one is iocage.

Snapshots doesn’t magically spawn 100 GB of data. You would have to generate 100 GB worth of data for there to exist 100 GB of data. You do have a snapshot of that dataset, but first I would like to see what the actual content is. What is the output of du -sh * from the HTPC Shell?

...and to be specific, it's entirely plausible that Plex metadata would be consuming ~100 GB. But that doesn't explain the discrepancy from NCDU.

When you run iocage activate {poolname} at initial use it created a dataset for it's use.

...and to avoid including external mounts, try this: du -shx /*.

root@HTPC:~ # du -sh *
Code:
du: No match.

root@HTPC:~ # du -sh /
Code:
3.0T /

This is because i have a data set mounted that has my media.

This is my / of HTPC jail with NCDU
DeepinScreenshot_20180520152229.png

Verified that there are no snapshots of that size.

Also its not plex since that is another jail.

root@HTPC:~ # du -shx /*
