The supermicro IPMI only gives control of the fans as standard/optimal IO/heavy IO/full speed
basically, at standard/optimal and heavy IO it sets all my fans to lowest (around 800ish RPMs)
thats fine, but its setting the fan speeds off the CPU temp which is always below 30 (big heatsink).
Problem is my HDDs hit the lower 40s and float around 38-42 degrees.
If i set my fans to full speed they all crank to 3000 RPM and are very loud and my HDDs go way too cool in (about 20c).
There seems to be no inbetween, is there a way to set these fans to 50% instead of min or maxing them>?
