As explained in the Hardware Recommendations Guide, linked in my sig, the i219-V is not officially supported under FreeBSD and thus FreeNAS. It's expected to work, but don't expect Intel to give a damn if it doesn't.

Why have you chosen to disregard the Hardware Recommendations?

Because I can't afford a supermicro board. what intel nic chipset would work?

Your links are all broken. Wait... weird, now they're no longer 404'ing.

First 2 links "merged" for some reason. It's fixed now.

Prices for the same boards outside of the U.S./Canada, for example, Australia (prices in AU dollars obviously):

Socket 1150
SUPERMICRO MBD-X10SLL-F-O uATX Server Motherboard LGA 1150 DDR3 1600
Newegg - 217 + 42.14 (shipping to my address) = 259.14

Socket 1151
SUPERMICRO MBD-X11SSL-F-O Micro ATX Server Motherboard LGA 1151 Intel C232
Newegg - 248 + 42.14 = 290.14

MSI C236A
229 (cheapest in country from a local seller)

Even though Xtreme Gamer 's location says Florida, for people located outside of North America who are budget conscious, the MSI board is a compelling offering price-wise as the price gap is much wider (personally I would pay the extra money as I value getting the correct/recommended hardware right from the start).
