hi

i build a new PC few month ago and want to convert my old PC to NAS machine.

this is the hardware specification of my old PC:
  • MoBo - Gigabyte GA-965P-DS4 (rev. 1.0) link
  • CPU - Intel® Core™2 Quad Q8300 (4M Cache, 2.50 GHz) link
  • RAM - 8 Gb DDR2 800Mhz
  • GPU - Nvidia 8600GTS (will be removed)
  • Case - Thermaltake Soprano link
Planning to put existing 2X500Gb drives in RAID-1
and (2+)x 2Tb drives for non backup media drive pool
usage is pictures and music backup and HD movies storage and streaming
*can't install more RAM on this MoBo
what do you think?

Doable, you'll be happy, but you have virtually no expandability in the future. I didn't check your network card though, so try it and see.
