Hello, recently upgraded my FreeNAS a couple months ago from an 8.0 beta to a more current 8.3. The upgrade has been working fine after I was able to get Transmission up and running in the jail. I recently purchased a few hard drives to start a RAID volume and will most likely have to move the jail or re-install.
My question is this. Is it possible to install Transmission without using a jail? I really liked how Transmission installed as part of the OS on the FreeNAS 8.0 version I was running before, and honestly I'm not too fond of the jail system. It creates a 'virtual' like machine on the same PC, so a second IP is needed, and as far as I know, all downloads are saved in the jail.
I'm OK if this is impossible. The only reason I upgraded was the built in OpenVPN packages on the newer versions of FreeNAS, so that definitely outweighs the cons of using jails.
Thanks
