i too recently got the message about the freenas_default certificate expiring. i followed the instructions to create an internal ca and a new certificate signed by the internal ca. i updated the gui ssl certificate in system->general.

before updating the certificate, i was to be able to access my server via the web with the hostname like this "http://tank/" or "\\tank" to access the windows shares. but after updating the certificate, i can't do that anymore. i can access it with the ip address. what do i need to do to be able access my server with the hostname again?

i'm running truenas 12.0-u8.1.

Nice it's working again. Sounds like there might be a slight issue with time between client and server
