I have 2 small kids and need to control their internet access. My research points to Dansguardian (or just squid) I am open to other suggestions, though. I ran across this guide and tried to do this in a jail running on my freenas server.

http://unix-heaven.org/node/56

I was able to get most of this going, but got stumped with getting PF to run in the jail. The kernel module is not running and I cannot get it to run and also do not know how to go about getting this to run in my jail. I did find a similar HOWTO on here (squid and firewall), but it is using a linux jail. I'd like to stick with the freebsd jail if possible. I have created a new jail callled Proxy and have installed ports of squid and am to the point if enabling pf and am stumped. Can I get any help with this?

Regards,

Keith

Jails don't support pf at this time. However, you can run ipfw in a jail.

This kind of thing is easier on a dedicated pfSense box.
