I haven't used command line stuff since the DOS days, so I'm pretty rusty. I'm running Freenas 8.2 beta. I have some rar files in a director on one of the drives mounted to the NAS via SAtA that I want to unrar from the command line. I cannot figure out how to unrar them.
I have tried these ways:
1. I tried pkg_add -v -r unrar and then using the commands unrar file.rar and unrar e file.rar from the directory where the rar files are
2. I tried wget both the linux and free BSD versions and unzipping them in the directory with the rar files and using the same "unrar" commands as above.
3. I then tried to copy both versions from step 2 to /bin, but I got the error "read only file system."
I cannot figure out how to unrar some files from the command line in FreeNAS.
Does anybody have an easy(and detailed) step by step way to do this?
Thanks,
Craig
